I revved up my 1991 Olds Cutlass Supreme this morning. The tranny died a few weeks ago when Kay and I were delivering BeWell newsletters in Boise. Everybody thinks I'd be silly to spend $2,000 to buy a new transmission and get it installed and almost as silly to spend $600 to have a used transmission installed.
Well, I really like that car. And I love having two cars.
So I keep the battery charged by starting up the engine in my "old Olds" (I have a 2001 Olds Intrigue as well) every now and then. Well, this morning when I did that and pushed on the gas pedal two or three times with the car in gear, it slowly but surely moved forward or backwards depending on the gear I chose.
Then I finished emptying everything out of the car. I'll wait to make a final decision.
