A consultant is...

What's a consultant? My cousin Marv sent along the following definition this morning: "A consultant is a person who borrows your watch, tells you what time it is, hands your watch back, and sends you a bill."

And from the Wizard of Oz: "Some people without brains have an awful lot to say." Maybe the Tin Man was thinking about consultants...

My bro Dave and wife Miriam are putting ceramic tile on the entry hall in my house. Scraping down to the concrete, they uncovered linoleum from the days when our step dad completed the west addition to the house and created a huge living room plus a partitioned room with a bay window for them to share an office. I'm sure Mom had a hand in choosing the green pattern for the floor covering. It was quite the style in those days, about 1965 or so.

I've replaced the accordion-folded partition with a solid wall and door and covered the floor with light gray carpet that needs to be replaced soon.
