I have been in a laid-back mode for so long with my broken wrist and a recent 8-day vacation to Angwin, California, that I'm struggling to get back in the saddle before the last roundup.
Today I did work, though, and it sorta felt good.
My assistant, Kay, is on vacation for a week or so. Imagine this: Kay, her husband Martin, her sister Susan, Susan's husband Jack, and Susan and Kay's father, Field, all in one van headed from Caldwell to Whidbey Island, to visit Field's cousin.
I'm ready to stay put for a while and am enjoying the straight roads and equidistant intersections, although the bright orange traffic cones and "road closed" signs are somewhat disturbing.
